Weekly retrospective #23: HADEPH LIMITATIONS!

What the hell is HADEPH? Never heard? Nothing to worry about. I was just thinking about the term "mobile photography" and you guess it: I don’t like it. As every kind of photography (with some seldom exceptions) is photography with a handheld device. Fact!

So HADEPH is nothing else than HAndheld DEvice PHotography, which is the same as mobile photography …. Arrgghhh. Easy come, easy go.

But my main theme today is all about the limitations you have when shooting with a, let’s say, handy cam. You will work with a fixed lens and in most cases with a undesirable, unusable digital zoom function. I know the Nokia 808 has such a zoom function with a loss of quality, but does this really help if you go to a zoo? Not really. Most of the animals are far away separated by a fence and in some cases by a water moat.

So you have to search the places where you come close to the animals without jumping over the fences and getting weat or eaten. Below you will find some of the images I shot last week.
The Nokia 808 and the iPhone 4 have been used for this.
You may not see it in these small images, but the Leguan is really sharp!
As always enjoy! More about HADEPH limitations next week. Stay tuned!
